Film
Entry Guidelines:
1.
Eligibility: Filmmakers from any country may submit films for
consideration. Films from any date of completion are considered.
2. Final Submission Deadline:
All
submission packages must be received by August 22,
2007 to be considered for TIE-2007 (Held in Montevideo, Uruguay: November
21-24, 2007). Films are considered on a rolling basis. Deadlines are
subject to change. Filmmakers
are highly encouraged to submit their package as soon as possible. Late
submissions will automatically be considered for future TIE programming.
3. Submission format: Preview copies should be submitted on
VHS (NTSC or PAL) or DVD (NTSC or PAL, region 1 or all region). Each
tape or DVD and case should be marked with the title of the entry and
the name and phone number of the person submitting. Note:
If an entry is selected, only a celluloid film print will be exhibited.
4. Additional items: Other materials may also be submitted
at the discretion of the filmmaker including: a. Production notes b.
Photographic stills c. Descriptive materials d. Promotional materials
e. Artist biography/photos f.
Any other items 5. Include submission form: Complete
the Submission Form in its entirety. Sign, date it, and include it with
your entry. 6. Exhibition format: The final screening
format must be a film print in the film format that you select on the
submission form. Acceptable formats include: a. 8 mm b. Super 8 c. 16
mm d. 35 mm 7. Include $55 entry fee: Multiple films
may be submitted and are highly encouraged. A submission form and fee
are required for each film. Entry fees may be sent in the form of a
U.S. money order, cashiers check or personal check, and must
be included. All submission fees are non-refundable. Submissions
from outside the United States may either send a check or money order
in U.S. dollars drawn from a U.S. bank or include U.S. cash. Make your
money order or check payable to: "TIE". All submission fees
may also be made securely online by clicking experimentalcinema.org/subguides.htm
. Be sure to include your online payment confirmation number in
your submission package if you choose to make your payment online.
8. Submission shipping instructions: a. Do not
send via registered or certified mail. b. Do not use fiber-padded envelopes
for videotapes. Their residue ruins tapes and equipment. c. All videocassettes
and dvds are non-returnable due to the volume of entries. d. Do not
send C.O.D. 9. Notification: Entrants will be notified
if their film has been accepted and may be contacted anytime after the
submission has been received. 10. If chosen for selection:
Each filmmaker, who has a film selected for exhibition, receives a V.I.P.
Pass, granting access to the entire event as well as invitations to
private receptions and round-table discussions. 11. Exhibition
print deadline: If a submitted piece is accepted, A high
quality release print must be received during a designated time
frame before the event. A print must be provided without a screening
fee. 12. Disclaimer: TIE, or any of its principles,
volunteers or affiliates cannot accept nor assume responsibility for
damage or loss of any materials. All TIE related programs, events, deadlines
and locations are subject to change at any time. 13. Exhibition
print shipping: If chosen for selection, exhibition prints
must be sent prepaid including all duties, taxes and other fees. Prints
should be sent to the specific print traffic address that is given to
the filmmaker after acceptance. In the event that a filmmaker is not
in attendance to retrieve their print, the entrant should be prepared
to cover return shipping and handling and the corresponding charges
by providing a courier / express shipment billing account number or
pre-payment. TIE, or any of its principles, volunteers
or affiliates cannot accept nor assume responsibility for damage or
loss of any materials at any time, including during transit.
