Description: Who knows where these sounds are coming from and frankly who cares. Know this though, Scott Banning has crawled out of a very dark crevice of the universe and brought some of his friends with him. Twisted, doomy, and sophisticated without knowing it. Dark, rolling, ambient and glitched the ‘eF out. This guy is rumored to be one of Crash Worship’s close associates and it’s easy to pick up on some of his influences listed on the itchy-O myspace page. Which includes, Mick Harris, the Hafler Trio, Zorn and a handful of occult gurus like Crowley, and Alan Moore. Much like M. Harris here is another drummer that knows that drums are more than rhythmic. He strips it all down, pours thick gooey layers of LFO’s all over it, and then sprinkles tingly wet digital tickles down the back of your neck.
Also, not surprising to learn about roots in Taiko either. This guy hits hard when it counts. And we hear the visuals that accompany all of this will turn your head inside out with old school 16mm projections ala Butthole Surfer style. This is some deep and heavy shasta!
